Tom Attending TIFF

It was previously announced that both ‘I Saw The Light,’ and ‘High-Rise,’ will make their way to the Toronto Film Festival. Tiff recently this morning released the guest list for the event and Tom will be in attendance! For the complete list of star guest, see it here.

The highly anticipated adaptation of JG Ballard’s dystopian novel High-Rise, directed by Ben Wheatley, is set to receive its world premiere at this year’s Toronto film festival.

Toronto film festival 2015 to premiere Oscar hopefuls Freeheld and Stonewall Read more The film, set in the 1970s, stars Tom Hiddleston as a doctor who moves into a luxurious yet isolated tower block, only to find the building is beset by a dangerous class divide that threatens to break out into violence. Sienna Miller, Jeremy Irons and Elisabeth Moss also star. It’s the biggest project yet from Wheatley, who has received plaudits for Kill List, Down Terrace and A Field In England. In an interview with io9 in 2014, he described the style of High-Rise: “I mean it’s going to look like the 70s,” he said. “It’s going to be very styled in that way. We’re looking at the Ridley Scott adverts of that period. It’s going to be modern in a way that the 70s looked … back then they had a real idea of what the future was going to be like, and it was much more stylish.”

The film is part of the latest announcement of titles heading to Toronto, which also includes the world premieres of Sky, starring Diane Kruger and Lena Dunham, and second world war drama Land of Mine. These three films will join nine others in Platform, a new juried programme that will result in an overall prize winner. They all join previously announced films, including Lance Armstrong biopic The Program and Jake Gyllenhaal drama Demolition. The 2015 Toronto film festival runs 10-20 September.

As previously reported by Deadline, ‘I Saw The Light,’ officially gets a release date! Sony Pictures confirmed The Hank Williams biopic will hit the US on November 27th!

Legendary Pictures announced that they will be bringing three of their highly-anticipated projects to Comic-Con 2015 this year, Warcraft, Crimson Peak and Krampus . All three movies will be highlighted during the studio’s Hall H panel on Saturday, July 11 at 2:30 PM, moderated by Chris Hardwick. Both Warcraft and Crimson Peak had a big presence at Comic-Con 2014, as well, returning for the second year in a row. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been confirmed which cast members and filmmakers will be present at the Con, but you can take a look at the official details below.

Legendary Hall H Film Panel – Saturday, July 11th at 2:30pm

Hosted by Nerdist’s Chris Hardwick, Legendary will present films from its upcoming slate including content from Crimson Peak, Krampus, and Warcraft with special appearances by talent and filmmakers.

Booth Activity – Thursday, July 9th – Sunday, July 12th

Legendary will host a flurry of activity at their booth (#3920) this year including talent and filmmaker signings, virtual reality experiences, Warcraft prop photo opportunities and fan giveaways.

It isn’t known what will be shown from all three movies at the panel, but there will likely be at least some footage shown from Warcraft, Crimson Peak and Krampus. It’s worth noting that Krampus only started shooting in March, but if they’re already making their presence known at SDCC, they’ll hopefully have something to show the Hall H crowd. Warcraft and Crimson Peak, on the other hand, have been in post-production for quite some time, so it’s possible that the studio could show off a new trailer.

Crimson Peak, directed by Guillermo del Toro, hits theaters on October 16, starring Charlie Hunnam, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska and Doug Jones. Krampus, starring Adam Scott, Toni Collette, Allison Tolman, Emjay Anthony and David Koechner, arrives on December 4, from director Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat). Director Duncan Jones’ Warcraft arrives June 10, 2016, starring Ben Foster, Toby Kebbell, Travis Fimmel, Dominic Cooper, Paula Patton and Clancy Brown. Are you excited to see what these highly-anticipated movies will show the fans in San Diego?
